Bulk salt is for lots. Walks and doorways need something you can carry. Most crews and property managers keep a few pallets on hand for hand spreaders and walk-behinds.

Most products come in 50 lb bags, usually 49 bags to a pallet (counts vary by product). Pallets can ride along with a bulk delivery.

Bagged rock salt

The low-cost choice for walks when it's not too cold.

Ice melt blends

Salt blended with faster, colder-working chlorides. A good all-around walk product.

Magnesium chloride

Fast, works well below zero, and generally gentler on plants than rock salt.

Calcium chloride

The cold-weather specialist. Use it on the worst days and in the coldest spots.

Pet-safe melt

For apartments, HOAs, clinics and anywhere dogs walk. Always check the label.
